Jobseekers/Referrers FAQ’s
Q. Can I stop someone referring me?
A. Absolutely. Just click the appropriate link in the email that you receive from the referrer and they will be unable to send you any more jobs. However, his/her referrer rating will be affected and as a result their claims on any successful rewards will be reduced. So please think very carefully if you want this to happen. It might be better to ignore these emails unless you feel they are completely inappropriate and considered an annoyance.
Q. Can I choose not to receive any more job emails?
A. Of course! We do not want you to get any emails that you would prefer not to receive. Just click on the appropriate link on any job referral email and you will no longer receive any more emails. If you change your mind, just email us at re-subscribe@JobTonic.com.
Q. What happens if more than one person refers a job to me?
A. You can decide who gets the reward, should you take the job. The link on the email that you click will determine who gets the reward. To avoid falling out with friends or colleagues, we would recommend you pick the person who contacted you first. That seems fair.
Q. Why can’t I apply directly and still get a reward?
A. Firstly, we would not want you to be tempted to apply yourself once someone refers a job to you - that would be unfair. Also, our customers do not want to pay you a reward for joining them. They want you to join them because you like the company and the job, not the money.
Referrer FAQ’s
Q. How many people can I refer?
A. You are limited to 5 per job. But you can refer people to as many jobs as you want. However, your friend can choose to stop receiving any more job referrals from you as an individual. Be considerate in your job recommendations and avoid being blocked from sending job referrals. This will lower your referral rating and subsequent percentage paid to you from the advertised reward. We would prefer you to contact your friend in the first instance to seek their permission to refer them and then everyone is happy. We want to encourage quality referrals and do not approve of spamming.
Q. What happens if the company does not pay JobTonic.com the reward?
A. We will do everything possible to collect the reward and our customers are good honest people so there should be no problems. However, we only pay you once we get paid, so if there is a problem and we cannot secure the reward, we cannot pay it to you. Companies advertising on JobTonic are monitored to ensure they adhere to our terms and conditions. If they don’t pay the reward without good reason, we will either stop them from offering a reward next time, or stop them from using the site completely. We don’t like people who don’t pay either.
Q. Does JobTonic.com pay my tax?
A. No. You get the full amount and it is up to you to declare this to the nice taxman. We keep a record of all rewards paid and the nice taxman might ask us for this record, so be warned.
Q. Can I split the reward with my friend?
A. What you do with your reward is up to you. You can give your reward to your granny or to charity if you like. However, please remember that you may have tax to pay, as may your friend if you gift it to them.
Q. What if my friend gets someone else to refer them?
A. You did say friend? It is possible that an individual can ask someone else to visit JobTonic and then refer the job back to him or her. It would be best to contact them first and check that they would not object to receiving jobs by email that you believe would be of interest to them. Of course, it might not be just you who thinks your friend is right for a job. If more than one person refers your friend for a particular job, the referrer can choose who will get the reward. Our site is the judge and jury in accordance with the referrers’ wishes.
Q. How does the referrer rating system work?
A. This is explained in more detail elsewhere on the site and can be accessed from the front page. However, a simple explanation would be to say that a portion of the reward associated with a job would be paid to the person who originally referred the job. The first time you make this successful referral you will be given a percentage of the reward (actually, its 75%). The second successful referral you make will increase this percentage so that you get a larger portion of the reward. This percentage will continue to increase until you are eligible to receive 100% of the reward de
pending on you reaching a threshold for successful referrals. We have chosen this method to encourage people like yourself to make successful referrals and reward you for your efforts. However, the percentage of the reward you receive could be reduced if you continually send poor or inappropriate referrals to people you know. We want you to refer people who will be grateful to hear about the job, so if in doubt, you are much better to contact them first.
