Edinburgh, 20th August 2007. Jobtonic, the UK’s leading referral recruitment site now has over 30,000 referrers signed up and ready to tell their friends about jobs. Vacancies now stand a chance of being referred to one of over 1.5 million people within the reach of the ever-expanding site. That’s one in forty of the entire UK population.
The Microsoft-funded study¹ that gives the average number of friends of a person in the UK as 54 cites the rise of social networking sites as being key to helping people stay connected. By leveraging the on and off-line social networks of its referrers, Jobtonic gets vacancies in front of coveted passive candidates. Those already satisfied with their jobs make the best employees but don’t typically read traditional recruitment classifieds on the web or in print.
Jobtonic rewards its referrers for successful recruitment matches with up to £2,000 in cash. Advertisers can set the level of the reward given to the successful referrer providing maximum flexibility.
Nick Goldstein, Sales and Marketing Director, Jobtonic commented “With our reach expanding all the time, it’s great to see the model is working well. Our client list is growing daily and we are focussed on making sure that our eager referrers have plenty of vacancies to tell their friends about”.

Recruiters posting on this job board will now also have the option to add a referral reward to their vacancies. Vacancies with rewards will benefit from extra exposure on the Jobtonic website. Our existing browsers can now tell others about jobs that might not appeal to them and be rewarded if the match is made”.
Nick Goldstein of Jobtonic added “Referral recruitment is gaining some real momentum in the UK and it all goes to show that social networking isn´t just about sharing photos online!”.

Edinburgh, 31st July 2007, Jobtonic, the leading UK referral recruitment website today launched its unique Publisher Widget. Bloggers, webmasters or even social networking site users can add the widget to their own page and earn a share of rewards if the resulting referrals successfully place candidates.
The widget gives authors a means of monetising their blog or social networking profile page, if one of their friends or readership successfully refers a job onwards, they can be rewarded with a 5% share of up to £2,000 in cash. Rewards vary by position but there are over 1,000 vacancies listed and in excess of £320,000 of rewards available to be claimed.
A small section of web code is inserted into a host page allowing the author to display a selection of jobs relevant to their audience. When a visitor sees a job that interests them, they can click to view the full details and apply or even refer the job onwards to their own friends if they know somebody more suitable.
By giving website owners and bloggers the opportunity of hosting vacancies on their own pages, Jobtonic further leverages their model beyond the realm of traditional advertising and attracts the coveted passive candidate. The best candidates can only be found by taking the recruitment advertising model away from the traditional classifieds model and putting vacancies in front of web users so that they can do the leg work and find suitable candidates in their on and offline social networks.
Nick Goldstein, GM, Jobtonic commented “Our publisher widget represents a major step forward for recruitment widgets. We reward the publisher for the click and reward them again if a referral is made and it results in a hire. 5% of our current top reward of £2,000 is a nice incremental income that any blogger will be pleased to have arrive one day by way of a thank you for prompting a referral!”
The Jobtonic referrer widget is available now and the code necessary to add it to a page can be accessed via the link http://www.jobtonic.com/login.affiliate.html. Interviews with Nick Goldstein on the future of online recruitment and fresh quotes are available upon request.
