An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information Assistant to join one of the worlds leading providers of technology, product innovation, engineering solutions and strategic consulting to the worlds automotive, transport and energy industries.
The Information Services department provides a Group-wide service in monitoring, acquiring, indexing and exploiting industry-relevant news, and technical and market information. In addition to the internal service, a number of online and other news-based services are marketed to clients. The main facility is based in Shoreham, but there is also an on-site presence in Leamington Spa, where the successful candidate will be based.
As Information Assistant, you will provide administrative and indexing support to the Library in Shoreham and on-site library support to the Leamington Spa site. You will also manage the local collection of books, journals and standards at the Leamington Spa site and respond to queries for information from local users. Overall, you will be responsible for the acquisition, indexing and cataloguing of new library material for the Leamington Spa library collection, including books, papers, documents, manuals and electronic media. You will also input data to the Powerlink Library Databases, supplementing the library team in Shoreham.
The successful candidate should have good interpersonal skills, and must have a high level of office skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. They must also have the ability to work on their own initiative. A typing, or other office/clerical skills qualification would be useful, but not essential.
