Description

PLANNING ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL
MAJOR STEEL MANUFACTURER
BASED WEST GLAMORGAN

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Planning Engineer to join the Cokemaking department of a customer-focused, innovative solutions-driven company which makes hot-rolled, cold-rolled and metallic-coated strip steels and provides solutions in product design, processing technologies and management of the supply chain.

Your role will be to provide and develop engineering expertise within the Department, working with the day support team, shift teams and contractors to continuously improve manufacturing performance. You will ensure that the Works area complies fully with its legislative requirements, including communication of plans to relevant stakeholders. You will prepare and manage local maintenance and shutdown plans, prioritise and resource work requests for planned maintenance and organise and control mobile plant and equipment.

In addition, the role will also entail authorising requisitions and stock issues, managing spares levels, logistics and quality, controlling repair specifications, standards and repair compliance and ensuring that appropriate engineering control standards are in place.

Candidates should be educated to HNC or equivalent level and have practical planning and experience within Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering. Candidates will require appropriate communication skills and drive to learn the detail of the respective plant. They will need to be flexible to the changing demands of the plant and be able to coach the local engineering resource to improve the effectiveness of the engineering plans.
