MANUFACTURING SUPPORT ENGINEER – PLANNING
MAJOR STEEL MANUFACTURER
WEST GLAMORGAN

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Support Engineer - Planning Engineer to join the Sinter and Blending departments of a customer-focused, innovative solutions-driven company which makes hot-rolled, cold-rolled and metallic-coated strip steels and provides solutions in product design, processing technologies and management of the supply chain.

As a Planning Engineer, your role will be to originate and be responsible for the efficient planning, estimating and operational procedures for the manufacture and repair of engineering equipment within the department. Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Manager, you will be required to support the manufacturing area by providing a planning service for all routine, cleaning and annual maintenances for the production units within the cell, determine all resources required for maintenance activity, and liaise with internal engineering functions and outside contractors to arrange suitable manning.

In addition, you will establish spare parts requirements for maintenance activity, liaise with procurement and suppliers in setting priorities, monitor spares usage within the manufacturing area and recommend and initiate improvements to the existing planning and spares processes.

Candidates should typically be educated to degree level, or have equivalent qualifications and experience, eg. HNC/Diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering. Relevant plant experience is desirable and a good knowledge of the TEMS planning system and the PISCES procurement system would be desirable for this position.
